Toast Printing Hub (The new Receipt Printer)

In early 2026 Toast replaced the TP200 receipt printer with the new Toast Printing Hub.

The new name reflects the versatility of the receipt printer to connect cash drawers, card readers, scanners, and network connections.

Benefits

Local Printing

The printer can now print to the connected terminal with out an internet connection. This means we can use a terminal connected via WiFi and still print receipts from that one terminal. 
And if the terminal looses connection, from a switch going offline or no WiFi the local receipt printer will still print. This won't allow us to print kitchen tickets, or allow other POS to print receipts here. But is an improvement.

Status Lights

There are now five status lights on the

Power: Orange = Off, Green = On
Network: Solid Green = Link, Orange = Offline
Terminal: Green = Terminal connected and On, Orange = Terminal connected but turned off
Paper: Green = Paper loaded, Orange = Paper empty
Error: Flashing Red = Hardware error

Changes

Power Connection

The power connection is no longer USB-C but a round barrel plug. Apparently it was too easy to plug the power into the wrong port and damage the printer.

A USB-C cable connected directly from the Hub to one of the older Flex Terminals will not power the terminal. Toast include an adapter when the printer is bought separate from a new Flex 3 terminal. The adapter plugs into the Hub and then the provided USB-C, or the old USB-C cable.

Print Test/Configuration

The printer prints a startup status report when turned on. You don't have to hold down a feed button.

But this report doesn't show the MAC address. The MAC addresses are labeled on the back of the printer, or with the printer off hold the feed button and turn it on. A brief menu will print.

Press feed once then hold feed to exit the menu and return to normal function.
Press feed twice then hold feed to print a diagnostic report with the MAC address.
Press feed three times then hold feed to test the cutter. The print will make a series of quick cuts.

 

 

Misc

The printer is very slightly larger

There is only one additional Eth port where the old printer had two.

The printer appears to feed in all orientations. Unlike the TKP300 kitchen printer.
